Character AGE: 19
Character ABILITIES: She doesn't have any magical abilities or super powers or anything but she is a computer GENIUS.
Character HISTORY: Warehouse 13 history and information

Claudia has more of a history than your typical 19 year old. Unless, of course, we're talking about a 19 year old genius who's part of a secret agency that snags, bags and tags artifacts with dangerous abilities.

She had a fairly normal childhood, all told. She was born in 1992 to two loving parents. Two loving parents who died tragically when she was about 5 years old, leaving her to be raised by her older brother, Joshua. There are some discrepancies about when precisely things happened but somewhere between the ages of 7 and 10 she witnessed the most horrible event of her young life. Pushed by the words of "Professor" Artie Nielson, her brother jumped the gun and performed an experiment in human teleportation before it was ready. He vanished, presumed dead, leaving Claudia to foster care.

Growing up in foster care wasn't easy and she moved out as soon as she was able, ultimately ending up in a boarding house. As she got older she stopped playing with dolls and started playing with computers, learning how to hack and program like a pro. She also became very adept at making her own devices. The desire for knowledge certainly runs in the family. Through the years there was one thought dominating her mind - Joshua. She read everything she could about Rheticus, the man whose experiment Joshua had been trying to replicate. At some point she began having visions of the past - of her brother. She started hearing his voice. He was speaking to her, telling her he was trapped. At first she thought she'd lost her mind. She checked herself into a psychiatric facility where she was treated for hallucinations. After 4 months of treatment she decided that she believed her brother truly was speaking to her and she checked herself out. Her life then became solely about saving her brother. She got a mysterious email from a Professor Reynolds, the man her brother was working under on his experiments, that clued her into a possible way to find Artie Nielsen. By searching the power grid for unexplained amounts of power in the middle of nowhere she was able to find the warehouse. She hacked the firewalls and got through, getting into the Warehouse itself and kidnapping Artie. It took some convincing but she got him to believe her brother was trapped and he ultimately decided to help her  and together they succeeded in bringing Joshua back.

Of course all of this meant she knew too much about the Warehouse. Mrs. Frederics gave Artie a choice. Artie gave her a job. Since then she's been driving Artie out of his mind with her upgrades to the system and their gadgets. The one kink in her plans came via James MacPherson. In order to get into the Warehouse systems, MacPherson used Leena. To add another layer of intrigue he had her use an artifact to impersonate Claudia so most of the team thought that Claudia was the one double crossing them and helping the fink. She left the Warehouse, fleeing to Switzerland to see her brother and try to clear her name. Thankfully Artie believed her and he helped her set things right.

It's all good, now. She's moved her way into his trust and has gone from flunkie to Apprentice Agent. She's both thrown gigantic monkey wrenches into things and helped save the day. She even almost died thanks to an artifact, which Myka says officially qualifies someone as an agent. She still considers herself a full fledged agent at this point, even though technically she can't join the secret service or anything without a college degree. But she's working on that.

Currently she alternates between working her computer mojo in the office and going out in the field with "New Guy" Steve Jinx, her new BFF. All in all life is pretty damn good.

Character PERSONALITY:

Claudia Donovan is an odd duck. As the youngest member of Warehouse 13 she has had to constantly battle against the idea that she's too young, not good enough or smart enough to be more than she is. That is a constant source of inner struggle and debate on her part. This is made even more complicated by the fact that she's still not entirely certain who she is. Even though she's only 19 she has a hard time talking to people her own age since she's had anything but a normal childhood. She even tells Artie "I'm not my own age." When she was younger she acted well beyond her years as well. Her brother, Joshua, tells Artie that "Claudia doesn't understand the concept of being 10" and he was right. While other girls were going boy crazy and being social she was pushing him in his experiments and, when he disappeared, retreating into herself and starting to do research of her own. She never really had many friends, content to stick with what she understood - computers and machines. Her only boyfriend, Todd, only really appealed to her when she found out he was a hacker, too. Of course the fact that he was on the witness protection program and had to leave the state was a buzz kill but that's how life goes. Her biggest turn on, really, is the stereotypical "talk nerdy to me." She has kissed Fargo (Of Eureka fame) multiple times after he went off talking tech, yet she always tells him that it's never going to happen. She's just not looking for a social life. Most people don't really get her, anyway. And the fact that she can't talk about what she does puts a damper on anything since that's all she does.

She is a whiz with all things tech, able to whip up complex gizmos in very short spans of time. Unfortunately she does this to a fault, not able to resist a challenge or a chance to create or improve something. She really is the epitome of "easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." Right from the get-go with the Warehouse she was yanking non-operational tech from the floor and re purposing it into something that worked. She can take something built in the 19th century and turn it into a 3D holographic projector or something equally steampunk and fabulous. Of course she often does this against Artie's express instructions... she thinks that she knows what's right and does it no matter what any one else says, to the point that she once borked all the Farnsworths because she was fiddling with her own. The event eventually culminated in her being able to fix something on the fly with little idea how it worked in the first place but it did start to teach her to be careful what she tinkers with. Not that it completely stops her, though, since she's built and modified a number of useful gadgets since then including a tracking device for Artie's sunglasses since Old Spice keeps losing them. In the same vein she absolutely acts before she thinks, though she's better at that than she was when she started with the Warehouse. Quite often she'll do something or blurt something out without completely thinking it through. She's very good at putting her foot in her mouth, not so great at getting it back out again. It usually ends with a lot of stammering and awkward.

When Claudia wants something, Claudia gets it. She will go to any length to get what she wants if she wants it badly enough. This is including but not limited to: kidnapping, threatening, putting her own life at risk and lying. On the subject of lying - no lie is too big. Of course this goes hand in hand with the "not thinking" thing since not once, but twice she told someone "he's dying" as a way to convince them to talk to each other. She might legally be an adult but she still has the fearlessness of youth, although she's starting to grow out of it. She doesn't think twice before using a magnetized suit to climb up to the ceiling of the warehouse to fix a light bulb... until she gets stuck and can't get down. She's also faced down a man with a bayonet, using nothing but her feminine wiles... and a mini Tesla shoved down her bodice.

Claudia is such an individual that it hurts sometimes. From the one rebellious streak of color in her hair to her clothes to the words she makes up instead of cursing she marches to the beat of her own guitar. Despite this, however, she's reluctant to let her own individuality shine at times. The first time she goes out in the field she tries so hard to emulate Myka, her idea of a Good Agent, that she loses herself and falls flat. It wasn't until she started being herself that she shone as the Warehouse agent she's destined to be. It takes a lot for her to trust people enough to let them into her inner circle. But once you're in it's tough to get out. Family is THE most important thing to her. She moved heaven and Earth and nearly died to save her brother and would easily do that again to save any one of her new family at the Warehouse. Artie is the father-figure she never had... and still isn't sure she wants. Pete and Myka are the second and third coolest siblings in the world and Steve... well he's just her best friend. Leena is the only one she hasn't absolutely placed. After the events with MacPherson it took her a while to forgive Leena, even if none of it was her fault. She has such a hard time trusting that it takes a while to earn that back.

Her biggest fears are losing those she's close to, losing herself, and finding out that she really is completely insane and that none of this is real. She has been told that her destiny is to become the next Caretaker of the Warehouse. She almost did become the caretaker when Mrs. Frederics was near death and she didn't like that one bit. She would have taken the responsibility and power to keep everything safe but the fact that it was happening without her consent didn't sit well with her. She had a near meltdown until Artie assured her that nothing would ever happen unless she wanted it to. While they were inside a video game that brings people's fears to light her fear was the doctor who had treated her at the psych ward. When he told her that everything she was seeing was all in her mind, that it was all something she'd created she nearly collapsed with terror. She's never comfortable admitting her checkered past when it comes to mental health, and the fact that she'd even had that past worries her to no end. What if something happened and she really was crazy? What if this was all in her mind and she never left the facility? These are questions that have haunted her. Of course since she defeated her fear in the game she's starting to move past it.

For someone as outgoing as she is she has little self confidence. It's not just evidenced by her emulating Myka or her fears. When going off on her first mission as an Agent with Steve she took every chance she had to point out that she was the senior agent. She does it as much to boost herself up as to show off to everyone else. You know, fake it til you make it. Maybe one of these days she'll be confident enough to just step out there on her own and be the bad ass Agent everyone else knows she can be.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON:

Claudia's weapon is going to be a guitar. But not just any guitar. Jimi Hendrix's guitar. In canon the guitar is an artifact that emits electrical discharges. At its strongest it could have knocked out the entire Eastern power grid. Claudia stopped it by reattaching the tremolo bar and playing the guitar, bending the pitch enough to disrupt the electricity. In game the guitar would be more controlled thanks to the bar. She could shoot electricity similar to the teslas but with a little more kick and minus the memory wipes. As it evolves the range and radius of the discharges will increase. It will also develop the ability to emit sonic bursts and EMP blasts (at much higher levels, of course)

Character INVENTORY: LET'S SEE

On her person she has her Farnsworth and her mini tesla as well as a regular cell phone.

In her shoulder bag she has her laptop, a pair of purple gloves that are used to handle artifacts safely, a couple of artifact containment bags (to transport artifacts safely), a snowglobe that, when shaken, freezes things. She generally uses this to chill her soda when it gets too warm. She also has a pair of "electrocuffs" which are handcuffs that emit a shock of 20,000 volts at the push of a button. Lastly she has her Tesla Grenade. Which is basically a Tesla that's been converted to grenade form, one twist of the top and after a few second delay it emits a radius blast of electricity to knock out anyone in the general vicinity (and erase short term memories). Other than that she just has some random tools, lock picks and bits of wire and odds and ends that don't really do anything until she performs some jiggery pokery and puts it all together to makes something amazing.

First PERSON:

[The video flickers for a moment before turning on. Claudia grins lopsidedly at the camera, waggling her fingers]

Sup, bitches?

[With a laugh she spins in the chair, kicking her feet up on the desk she's sitting behind. If anyone looks closely enough they might spot another tablet behind her... in pieces... what? She was bored and wanted to know how it worked.]

Okay. So I get the whole "transported to another world" thing but, seriously, could they have picked a lamer place? What? Couldn't the world have ended and left, like, Cabo or something? This rain is really cramping my style. Aaaaand let me get this straight. No internet. No TV. Not even radio? Booooring. This place is like a total yawn-fest. What you guys need is someone to liven up the joint.

[Her smile widens as her mind already starts to turn, thinking on what she could do to fix the place up. Of course that smile is short lived as a door slams and someone who shall remain Artie calls her name in his "Claudia did something wrong" tone (patent pending). Guess who found out she stole his tablet because she dismantled her own. Whoops? She cringes before shooting the feed a quick grin]

Uh. Gotta go. Uhh [She flashes the Vulcan Live Long and Prosper sign] May the force be with you.

[With one final wink she flicks off the feed.]

Third PERSON:

Claudia frowns as she taps through the archived information on her tablet. None of this waslooking very good and none of it was telling her how she was going to get home. Sure she'd been telling Artie that she wanted a vacation but she didn't think the universe would take matters into its own hands.

She whips up a quick and dirty algorithm that would search for any references of "going home" "return" "leave" or any other variations she could think of. Letting the gizmo do its work she stands and crosses to the window. She pushes back the curtain, looking out at the dismal city she'd found herself in.

"Claudia, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"

She brushes her hair away from her eyes, the shock of green hair catching the corner of her vision. Shit, where's she gonna get hair dye in this place? Do they even have hair dye? If she can't find any that chunk of hair is gonna start looking pretty gnarly in a week or so.

When the realization hits her that of all things she's sitting here worried about her hair she can't help but laugh. A cackling laugh that sounds just a little maniacal. Hey, she's been through worse. She's not gonna let some jinky city keep her down. The tablet pings, indicating it had finished its search. She spins, rushing over and practically throwing herself back into the chair and back to work.
